“This Is How Often Readers Actually Want Your Newsletter

Figuring out how often to send your newsletter really comes down to what you can realistically handle and what makes sense for your audience. If you don’t have the time or content to sustain a daily cadence, forcing it will just burn you out. Instead, think about your topic, the format you’re using, and how much content you actually have. For example, short curated lists or quick takes can work daily, but deep dives and essays are usually better off weekly or even monthly. The key is to pick a pace that feels sustainable rather than overwhelming.

Monetization also plays a big role in setting your frequency. If your revenue is ad-based, you’ll probably want to send more often since each send adds up in CPM dollars. But if you make money through subscriptions, memberships, or high-ticket offers, you can get away with less frequent sends since each reader is worth more. There’s no one-size-fits-all answer here — daily, weekly, or even short-run pop-ups can all work. The real goal is to pick a cadence you can stick with for the long haul and adjust when it makes sense. (LINK)
