The Platforms That Actually Let You Build Leverage
The future of media is basically down to three channels: YouTube, podcasts, and newsletters. YouTube is the new TV, podcasts are the new radio, and newsletters are the new magazines—and the numbers back it up hard. These are the only channels where creators can build real relationships at scale, not just chase likes or impressions. If you want to build a serious content business, you need to be exceptional at at least one of them. Everything else—social, ads, short-form—is either support or a distraction unless it’s feeding into your main channel.
The big mistake most creators make is trying to do everything at once while avoiding video. Newsletters and podcasts don’t grow on their own—you need a discovery engine, and video is the fastest one we’ve got. You don’t need a studio, fancy edits, or charisma—ideas matter more than polish. Pick one primary channel, focus 80% of your effort there, and use video to fuel growth. If you’re scared of video, you’re not protecting your brand—you’re slowing it down. (LINK)
