If you're growing a newsletter and want it to land in the inbox (not rot in spam), your sender reputation matters more than you think. Basically, mailbox providers like Gmail and Outlook judge your vibes—if they think you're sending stuff people didn’t ask for or don’t engage with, you're out. Even perfectly coded emails won’t save you if readers aren’t opening or clicking. To stay in their good books, only send to people who actually want your newsletter and keep things engaging.

Now, how do you check if you're in their good books? There’s no single dashboard, but tools like Inbox Monster or GlockApps give you solid inbox placement reports. If that’s too pricey, try adding your own Gmail/Yahoo/Outlook test accounts and see where your emails land. Also, keep an eye on blocklists (like Spamhaus), check Sender Score or Talos for early warnings, and definitely hook up Google Postmaster Tools if you’re sending to Gmail users. It’s not flashy, but this behind-the-scenes stuff seriously boosts your growth and monetization game. (LINK)
